We’re just around the corner from Abingdon Town Square, which is served by several different bus routes from Oxford, Didcot, Wallingford and beyond. If travelling by train simply alight at Oxford or Didcot stations and hop on a bus to Abingdon
While we don’t have a public car park on the Island there is ample parking in Abingdon. The closest public car park to us is Rye Farm Car Park located at the end of the bridge on which we’re situated and less than a minute’s walk to The Nag’s Head. Additionally the first two hours of parking there are free.
There is public mooring along the banks of the Thames, where you’ll be able to share our great riverside views and be only a short walk to The Nag’s Head. These moorings have a 3 night maximum stay imposed by Abingdon Council. We do have a private mooring on the island for guest use but unfortunately, these cannot be used for overnight stays.
If you’re cycling to The Nag’s Head simply enter via the driveway, where you’ll find bike rails to securely lock your bicycle.
All areas of our premise are fitted for disabled access. The Main Bar and Bar Lounge areas can be entered via either of the front doors as they are at street level. To access the Beer Garden, and restaurant proceeds down the driveway ramp to the garden, there is then a path that wraps around the back of the building with a ramp leading to both the outdoor decking and indoor restaurant. Should you need any help just ask one of our friendly staff!
