Taste Tradition – A Rare Breed Indeed

As one of the best restaurants in Oxfordshire, we know a thing or two about crafting the perfect menu. But you can’t curate mouth-watering meals without the very best ingredients. Which is why we only source the finest ingredients for our delectable dishes. When it comes to sourcing our meat we use a rare breed indeed – Taste Tradition.

Established in 2004 Taste Tradition specialises in supplying rare breed meat to the restaurant and catering sector. By partnering their farmers with award-winning master butchers to provide the highest quality meat products, from farm to fork. You’ll find them nestled in the picturesque setting of the North York Moors National Park. For three generations the Ashbridge family have been farming using the traditional methods of breeding, rearing and finishing livestock.

The Taste Tradition farms are home to a dizzying array of rare and native breed animals. In terms of cattle they keep; Longhorn, Shorthorn, Aberdeen Angus, Red Poll, Dexter, Hereford, Galloway, Belted Galloway, Welsh, and Irish Moiled cattle. But wait, there’s more! They also keep Saddleback, Gloucester Old Spot and Welsh pigs and Texel and Suffolk sheep too. With such a broad selection of livestock, their knowledge and experience of each and every breed is truly second to none.

Because of Taste Tradition’s impressive reputation for high quality produce, flavoursome fare and animal welfare, their customer list is pretty awe-inspiring. It includes a plethora of the country’s best chefs, restaurateurs and some very well-known celebrity TV chefs too. Their fine selection of meats are purchased by some of the biggest attractions in London, namely Kew Gardens and the National Galleries.

Taste Tradition works tirelessly to guarantee the welfare of the animals on their farms. They operate their own family farms and have formed a special partnership with a network of trusted farmers and abattoirs in their locality, this allows them to ensure animal welfare and traceability every step of the way.

Taste Tradition feel that their success stems from their commitment to animal welfare, traditional farming methods and high-quality produce. This is bolstered by the many local and national industry awards they have received.

Personally, we can’t think of a better supplier for our pork, lamb and beef. Customers flock to our Oxfordshire restaurant to indulge in our hearty provisions, hand-reared by the experts at Taste Tradition and carefully crafted by our chef’s into sensational, stomach-filling fare.

Why not book a table at one of the best restaurants in Oxfordshire and experience the best of British today.
