Welcome to The Nag's Head
The Nags Head is one of the great jewels of the river, set on it's own island, half way accross Abingdon bridge, the pub offers an unparalelled location for enjoying the Thames.
Recently re-opened, after a prolonged closure, the pub has been fitted out delightfully, with a main bar at 'Bridge level' catering to both drinkers and casual diners, and a 120 cover dining room at 'Island level' for the more formal dining experience. There is also the garden bar and grill catering to the garden, with seating for a further 250 diners or drinkers.
Food is served throughout the day and is traditional fresh, seasonal offer, with the menu changing regularly to make the most of seasonal ingredients. Please see our Food and Drink page for up to date menus.
For the drinkers we have one of the best wine lists you'll find in any pub, supplied by the Oxford Wine Company, who source the best wines from around the world, and the widest selection of real ales in the region, which makes us a great favourite with CAMERA.
On top of all this we offer regular live music, with a Tuesday night jam session, Friday night rock and blues bands and Sunday afternoon jazz.
If you've not yet visited the new Nags Head, then now's the time, as this pub is going from strength to strength and attracting new regulars every week, so why not join them for a pint.
